It once again reminds me how much I love Waco. I thought I would share it with you. This article comes from "The Lariat", Baylor University's student published newspaper.<br /><br /><h1>Man stabbed after passing gas</h1> <b>April 9, 2009</b> <p> </p><h5>By Nick Dean<br />Staff writer</h5> <p> Flatulence upset a man to the point of assault Tuesday at the Clarion Inn on South Fourth Street. </p><p> Juan Antonio Salano Castellano, 35, was sharing a hotel room with four other individuals. At the time of the crime, one roommate was showering and two were outside on their cell phones. </p><p>While eating in the hotel room with another man, Castellano passed gas. The flatulent act enraged the man, who threw a large kitchen knife across the room, Waco police said. The hurled knife cut Castellano on his leg. </p><p>The man then walked across the hotel room, picked up the kitchen knife and stabbed Castellano in the left side of his chest, the Waco police said. </p><p>The other roommates walked in the hotel room to find Castellano had been stabbed and attempted to take him to the nearest emergency room. Once the men realized they weren't aware of the location for the nearest hospital, and an ambulance and police were called. </p><p> According to the press release, Castellano was transported from the hotel by East Texas Medical Center to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. </p><p>Hillcrest Hospital has no records of the victim's hospital visit Tuesday. The victim had not been to the hospital since 2008, a Hillcrest Hospital representative said. </p><p> Jose Braule Ramirez, 33, was arrested in the hotel room and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The charge carries a minimum prison sentence of 2 years and a maximum of 20 years and a fine not to exceed $10,000. </p><p> Ramirez is being held at the McLennan County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. </p><p> The jail is also holding Ramirez because of an immigration detainer. Being in this weird city of Waco I have come to realize that it is easier for people to be stressed out with either work, life, school rather than make light of life and enjoying the simple things. This epiphany came to me about a year back, which has catapulted my new conquest to find the funny things of life and make sure I laugh at them. Living in Waco has not let me down in this conquest. There are too many things that I find on a weekly basis that make me laugh - which I hope this blog will give you the same fortune.<br /><br />Only in Waco would you find a parrot shop and a car audio service company in the same building. It's true. Really, not only can you install the latest Pioneer model and subwoofer but you can also bring home a parrot - a wild and full blown parrot - to your kids.
